1/13/2012 - Business Burglary
On 1/8/11, at approximately 1232 hrs, an individual entered the Soldotna Subway store, and removed money from the locked business safe. The Soldotna Police Department has video footage of this incident.

12/15/2011 - Burglary/Vehicle Theft

On 12/15/11, the Kenai Police Department responded to a report of a burglary of a residence on Lupine Street in Kenai.  Items stolen from the residence include a television, jewelry and a 1990 Toyota Pickup, Alaska license 5779CN, that is colored silver with blue strips.

 

Vehicle recovered as a result of Crime Stoppers Caller.

4/8/2011 - Robbery

On April 7th, 2011 at approximately 1610 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a armed robbery at the 4 -Lands Bar and Liquor Store in Nikiski.  Suspect is described as a 20 to 30 year old male with a medium build.  During the robbery, the suspect fired a round into the ceiling of the building and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.  CRIME SOLVED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT.

2/28/2011 - Assault with Firearm

On February 22nd 2011, Alaska State Troopers received a report from an Anchor Point resident that he and his nephew were assaulted with a handgun by a male suspect that was driving a blue SUV.  The suspect was identified as a Hispanic or light skinned African American, approximately 250 to 30 years of age, short hair, thin black mustache and wearing a ball cap.  The suspect is believed to be driving a dark blue Chevrolet or GMC SUV with aftermarket rims and tires and aftermarket head lights.

1/3/2011 - Murder
On January 4th 2002, Alaska State Troopers responded to mile 18 of the Kenai Spur hwy regarding a homicide.  Investigation revealed that while suspects were stealing items from the business (an airplane hanger) they were confronted by the victim, Gerald Sibley.  The suspects then shot and killed the victim.  Various tools and other items were taken by the suspects.

12/25/2010 - Burglary
On December 24, 2010 the Alaska State Troopers responded to the North Kenai Chapel in Nikiski to investigate the report of a burglary where the suspect was seen fleeing on foot.  The suspect stole food items, forced open a locked offering box, and discharged the contents of a fire extinguisher in the office.  Suspect described as a white male approximately five foot ten inches tall with a black mustache and carrying a black duffle bag.

11/14/2010 - Burglary

On October 09, 2010 Soldotna Police received a theft report of stolen jewelry and insulator tools.  The complainant advised $12000.00 worth of tools and jewelry were taken from the residence.  The tools were described as hand tools used for insulating pipe on the North Slope.  The jewelry was described as a men’s gold chain and a men’s gold nugget ring with holes in the band to let light through the Jade.

11/5/2010 - Reward Notice

Peninsula Crime Stoppers reminds members of the community that they can assist local law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime.  The November board meeting of Crime Stoppers resulted in the approval of a $600 reward for information that lead to the arrest of two felony suspects.  Tipster W178-119 is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers with the assigned pass code to claim their reward.

The Soldotna Police Department is requesting the public’s help reference a previously submitted Crime of the Week involving the burglary of the Soldotna H & R Block business that occurred on August 29,2009.  Previous callers reference this Crime of the Week or encouraged to call again, as well as any person with information on the location of the stolen computers, firearms and office safe.

9/6/2010 - Burglary

On 9/3/10 the Kenai Police Department responded to a report of a business burglary.  Unknown suspects broke and entered a closed business and stole replica professional team jerseys and clothing, and Nike brand shoes.  Value of the theft estimated at over $1000.
